Sparkling Summer Mocktails

Add some sparkle to your next gathering with these festive mocktail recipes.

Caribbean Spice Sparkler

  • Ingredients
  • 7 cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 cups water
  • Fresh ginger root, 4 inches by 2 inches, grated and squeezed for ¼ cup ginger juice
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 1/2 cups sparkling water

Directions

  1. In a small pot, bring cloves, cinnamon, and bay leaf to a boil. Turn off heat. Let sit 30 minutes.
  2. Add honey and ginger juice.
  3. Add 3 1/2 cups sparkling water. Mix well.

Hibiscus Sangria

Hibicus Sangria
  • Ingredients
  • 1/3 cup dried hibiscus
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup orange juice, strained, from 1-2 large oranges
  • 1 orange for garnish, cut into round slices
  • 1/2 cup lime juice, strained, from 4-6 limes
  • 2 limes for garnish, cut into round slices
  • 4 tsp bitters
  • 2 tbsp agave
  • 6 cups sparkling water

Directions

  1. Steep hibiscus in 2 cups boiling water for 1 hour, then strain.
  2. In one 1/2 gallon jar, combine strained hibiscus tea, orange and lime juices, bitters, and agave. Mix well.
  3. Pour half of the hibiscus juice mixture into a second 1/2 gallon jar. Add 3 cups sparkling water to each jar. Stir.
  4. Pour sangria into glasses and garnish with slices of oranges and limes.

Basil Mint Lemonade

Basil Mint Lemonade
  • Ingredients
  • 1/3 cup lime juice, from about 3 limes
  • 1 tbsp dried loose peppermint tea, steeped in 1 cup hot water, 15 - 30 minutes, strained
  • 1 tbsp dried basil, steeped in 1 cup hot water, 15 - 30 minutes, strained
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 6 cups sparkling water
  • 1 cup fresh mint, washed and picked from stems

Directions

  1. Make basil and peppermint teas.
  2. After steeping and straining teas, pour teas into a 1/2 gallon jar. Add lime juice and maple syrup. Mix well.
  3. Add sparkling water. Stir.
  4. Fill four 16 oz glasses with fresh mint. Divide lemonade between glasses.

The Razzatarra

The Razzatarra
  • Ingredients
  • 10 oz frozen raspberries
  • 2 lemons, with peel cut off
  • 1 lemon for garnish, cut into slices
  • 2 tbsp agave
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup tarragon, picked from stem, and packed into a dry measuring cup
  • 3 1/2 cups sparkling water

Directions

  1. In a blender, combine, raspberries, lemons, agave, water, and tarragon. Blend.
  2. Pour blended juice through a fine mesh strainer, and gently separate seeds from juice.
  3. Mix juice blend and sparkling water in a 1/2 gallon glass jar. Stir.
  4. Pour into six 12 oz glasses and garnish with lemon slices.
